About This Comic: Cacophony
Here’s another angst-filled comic from a music loving parent who is down to his last nerve and likely not going to win “Father of the Year”, ever.
I spent the whole day in an exceeding stressful, noisy office only to be incarcerated in an auditorium enduring an assault on my well-trained ears.
The aforementioned office happens to have a tenant downstairs that is part dance/part music studio. Once a week a kid comes in around 4:00 howling through voice exercises and I have always wanted to head down there and interject: “Your Mommy and Daddy love you, but I don’t. Maybe music isn’t your thing, certainly not singing. It isn’t working out”.
Some might call that overly negative, I call it realistic. How many of the kids (there must have been over 100) that I heard tonight will go on to become professional musicians?
That’s rhetorical, we don’t require an answer.
None of this makes me feel any more relaxed. Must sleep it off now and try to un-hear what I have heard. The school band massacred a personal favorite in a James Bond medley. “Live and Let Die” was the highlight of the abominations. If any of them are reading, I’ll say just three words: practice, practice, practice.
To my U.S. readers, have a great long Memorial Day weekend!
