Before he became a reality TV star, I read Trump’s book “The Art of the Deal“ and have to admit I was impressed. The number one take-away was his tip on negotiating where he teaches that one should ask for more than they really need going in, so that you are satisfied with the comprise the parties arrive at.
In hindsight, this seems like nothing more than common sense, motivated by greed.
Then when he became a TV star, I watched season two of “The Apprentice“. I think it was because the cast was compelling that season, but I never returned. There is also something sleazy about buying and running beauty pageants, the corrupt casino business and allegations he exaggerated his wealth in the early days.
While I like a couple of things about him (besides the eyebrows, he and I have a similarly thick Noo Yawk accent), I don’t see him as a moral compass suitable to be Commander-In-Chief. Let’s hope this goes no farther than Howard Stern’s NY Governor bid bit.
