Have you ever been to an elementary school violin concert? It is a sound unlike any other.
I suppose one of the problems is not the youth of the players, but the caliber of the craftsmanship of the instruments. Typically, a parent cannot put a $25,000 Stradivarius in the hands of a child; and the intonation of a student grade violin can’t rival that.
I also wonder if there is an inordinate amount of alcoholism among elementary school music teachers. God knows I’m not condoning excessive drinking, but if I had to listen to that all day I’d probably pour a stiff one as soon as I got home.

I can imagine. I was in band.
Maybe music teachers are built differently to withstand the noise. I know I too would have a hard time with it.
