Bear with me as I bring you the most inside of inside jokes today while doing some soul searching.
If you are a webcomics creator, you know who Frumph is. Philip M. Hofer has done more for empowering creators to bring you your favorite webcomics than any individual I can think of. Certainly mine exists because of his great work on the ComicPress theme which I’ve used for three years and now the sleek successor Comic Easel.
I dove into the new generation yesterday after reading FAQs and tutorials first, and when I hit a few minor snags his support was world-class. On a Sunday. Thank him and see what he has going on over at frumph.net and follow his Twitter if you aren’t already. Thank you, Philip.
The issue of the pity party otherwise is that I’ve been struggling to make the leap from being a front-end developer to back-end tasks. Not to worry, I made a major breakthrough and was upgraded to Adobe Creative Suite CS6, whose latest Dreamweaver (besides easy database queries) includes fluid grid layouts for responsive design. Makes it fun, almost. Unless of course you are one of my colleagues reading this – than it is highly difficult and requires that I be interrupted as little as possible.
Have a great week,
-T.

Sad part is, I didn’t know a lick of PHP prior to working on ComicPress 5 years ago. A friend needed help with their site and I jumped in and learned everything I can then got involved with making ComicPress better as I could. .. what I am saying is skill sets can be learned while actually doing the skill set you’re doing.
..thanks for the nod too, huge smile over here!
Very nice. I totally agree.
My comic would not be up and running if it were not for Philip. He is very patient and like you, we were working late on a Sunday night to get it all up and running correctly. Incredible guy.
Who Dat? FRUMPH DAT! Dat’s who!
True dat, indeed. Ain’t no Frumph like the real Frumph, baby!
I could learn much from genuinely helpful people like him.
