Indulge me if this gets a little too specific for casual readers… but this is occasionally My Lot in My Life.
Open source software starts out with the best intentions, but honestly – when the community adopts a holier than thou attitude with words to the effect of ”Linux is powerful – sometimes too powerful for you” I wonder why I don’t simply escape into books or art instead.
It is one thing to wave your geek flag high and wear a non-conformist badge on your sleeve. It’s quite another thing to lose sleep over it.
