I’m starting to deeply regret giving this item this kind of attention.
If you are visiting the archive “from the future” and this comic makes no sense here’s the short version: a flight attendant went ballistic last Monday, cursed out the passengers and quit his job in a spectacular display of histrionics by deploying an emergency chute. He became a working-class hero and gained a lot of sympathy, but at this writing witnesses are coming forth to state that he was drunk and rude from the get-go.
I wish I had spent the time giving a nod to a more worthy and personally relevant event, like Cathy Guisewite ending the “Cathy” comic this week. Failing that, check out this link to Tovias’ great tribute at his Reality Amuck webcomic.
