Recently my son entered the world of Halo: Reach and has become completely immersed. It is besides the point that he outgrew the Wii a couple of years earlier; he started talking lately about trading it in for a Best Buy gift card.

Hold the phone. Flash back to the gargantuan efforts I made to ensure he would be the first in his class to get a Nintendo Wii a month after it launched for Christmas. I went the whole “nine yards” of waiting on line in the dark before stores opened in a soup kitchen fashion, only to be turned away three times and subsequently and paying too much when it became available online.

I wasn’t having it. Even if I only play one or two games in the next few weeks for nostalgia, or “research”. It’s a matter of principal.

Have a great Fourth of July weekend. And thank you for a new all-time high month of visits in June ’11 and new Facebook Likes. You guys and gals rock.

Regards,
-T.A.D.
